Bayport Polymers Plant

The LyondellBasell Bayport Polymers Facility began operations in 1974 and will commemorate 50 years of service in 2024.  The site serves as a significant economic engine for the Pasadena and LaPorte areas. The facility produces Polypropylene and Catalloy resins used by our customers to manufacture medical devices, home furnishings, automobile components, food packaging, as well as household and industrial bottles.

The Bayport Polymers Facility provides good paying and stable jobs for employees and contractors who live and shop in the area. Property taxes paid by LyondellBasell help support local schools and government services. In addition, the facility supports the community through direct donations of money and resources to organizations such as Clear Creek ISD Education Foundation, Brookwood Elementary School, Houston Food Bank, Armand Bayou Nature Center, and Assistance League of The Bay Area.

The safety of the community, our employees and contractors, as well as our operations is a primary focus. The Bayport Polymers Facility aims for zero injuries, zero process safety incidents, zero product safety incidents, zero environmental incidents, and zero plastic pellet loss to the environment. The LyondellBasell GoalZERO standards apply to all employees, contractors and suppliers performing work at our sites.
