Intermediates and Derivatives

LyondellBasell is a leading global producer and marketer of propylene oxide and its derivatives including propylene glycol, propylene glycol ethers and butanediol. We also produce and market products derived from co-products of the propylene oxide process. Among these are styrene, oxyfuels (MTBE/ETBE) and isobutylenes. This segment also includes acetyls and ethylene oxide-based chemicals. We believe our proprietary technologies, product integration and geographic presence provide us with a competitive cost advantage. This, combined with the fact that we are seeing advanced organic growth in the U.S., Europe and the Asia Pacific region, with potential for inorganic growth opportunities including vertical integration in polyurethanes or horizontal integration with other chemical intermediates, positions us well for the future and differentiates us from our competition.
