Glycol Ether TPM

LyondellBasell

Description

Glycol Ether TPM - Tripropylene Glycol (Mono) Methyl Ether - is a colorless, combustible liquid with low toxicity. It has very little odor and is completely soluble in water. It has excellent solvency for many polar and non-polar substances. Glycol Ether TPM has a very low vapor pressure and may not be considered a VOC under some circumstances of use. Glycol Ether TPM is a good substitute for slow evaporating ethylene glycol (E- series) ethers.

Corporate Statement

Propylene Glycol Ethers (PGEs) are high-performance industrial solvents for paints and coatings, cleaners, inks, and a variety of other applications. These P-series glycol ethers have become the solvents of choice for reformulations and new product development. Propylene glycol ethers are based on reacting propylene oxide with varying chain alcohols.

Benefits & Applications

Glycol Ether TPM has very low volatility and evaporates slowly. It is completely water miscible and has good solvency with numerous non-polar substances. It can be blended with faster evaporating solvents to moderate evaporation.

Surface tension reduction and slow evaporation are some of the benefits of using Glycol Ether TPM in your cleaning formulation.

TPM has a low odor and slow evaporation rate. It is a good choice for wax strippers and floor cleaners which are spread over a large area. When used in an enclosed area, a floor cleaner containing a fast-evaporating solvent might produce an undesirable amount of solvent vapor.

Glycol Ether TPM provides good solvency for polar and non-polar materials.
