State-of-the-Art Facility Will Consolidate Employees Under One Roof
CLINTON, Iowa – July 15, 2016 – Recently, LyondellBasell’s Clinton Complex joined with local officials to commemorate the groundbreaking of the plant’s new state of the art $50 million administration building. LyondellBasell is one of the world’s largest plastics, chemical and refining companies.
“The new facility will streamline our operations by having multiple departments in one location,” said LyondellBasell Clinton Site Manager, Christopher Cain. “This is another great example of the continued investment by LyondellBasell in Clinton.”
The new building, being constructed by Quad Cities-based Bush Construction Company, is expected to be completed by the spring of 2018 and will include administrative offices, a control room, laboratory and a maintenance shop.
“We’re always pleased when a company makes an investment decision in favor of the Clinton region,” said Mike Kirchhoff, president & CEO of the Clinton Regional Development Corporation. “But we’re especially excited about this project, given LyondellBasell’s significant presence, economic impact and long history of success in our region.”
The LyondellBasell Clinton Complex employs approximately 400 workers and is one of the largest chemical plants in Iowa. The plant manufactures ethylene, the world’s most widely-used petrochemical. The Clinton site also converts ethylene into polyethylene plastic resins which serve as building blocks for various products such as leak proof and shatter proof containers for industrial and household chemicals, packaging that protects food, and children’s toys that are safe and durable.
