Edison Fire Department Learns About Operations

EDISON, New Jersey, June 2, 2017 – The Edison plant of LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies, hosted State Senator Patrick Diegnan (D-Middlesex) and Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin (D-Middlesex) for a plant tour and meeting with workers.  The Edison Fire Department also joined the tour to learn more about the operations of LyondellBasell.

“We are always excited to showcase our operations,” said Dave Schrutka, LyondellBasell Edison Site Manager. “With over $18 million in payroll, benefits and purchases from local vendors and approximately 70 employees and contractors, we are proud to be a strong economic engine for the community of Edison."

This was the first visit to LyondellBasell for Senator Diegnan and Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin. Both took the time to discuss the importance of manufacturing jobs and a variety of other topics affecting the 18th Legislative District.

“The spirit of discovery and innovation was on full display during my tour and highlighted by the contributions of hardworking constituents to the LyondellBasell Edison Plant,” said Senator Patrick Diegnan, Jr. “Based upon the heritage of licensing and technology leadership, LyondellBasell is uniquely positioned to deliver world class manufacturing processes and expand its footprint in Edison leading to more high paying jobs in our area while growing our New Jersey economy.”

The Edison plant manufactures the company’s Avant ZN catalysts used in the production of polypropylene plastic resins. These products are used in the manufacturing of automotive parts, plastic toys, containers and home furnishings.
