Matagorda Complex Donates More Than $25,000 to Matagorda Regional Medical Center Foundation

BAY CITY, Texas – Jan. 18, 2018 – The Matagorda Complex of LyondellBasell (NYSE: LYB), one of the largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies in the world, selected the Matagorda Regional Medical Center (MRMC) Foundation to receive $25,000 in funding through its corporate grant program, established to help further the company’s mission to make a positive impact in the communities where it operates.

The grant will support Matagorda Regional Medical Center’s Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, which opened in 2017. The center offers physical, speech and occupational therapy, in addition to wellness education programs such as weight management, diabetic education and healthy nutrition and exercise.

This year’s grant recipients represent a broad range of charitable organizations that support the community in the areas of health, safety, education and the environment. Along with MRMC, those receiving corporate grants from LyondellBasell’s Matagorda Complex are:

• Bay City Volunteer Fire Department: A $2,000 grant for purchasing new self-contained breathing apparatuses.

• Markham Volunteer Fire Department: A $1,900 donation for grass truck equipment.

• Palacios ISD: A $1,700 grant supporting the district’s Marine Education Center.

In addition to providing local assistance through grants, employees of LyondellBasell’s Matagorda Complex advance solutions in our community each year through volunteerism, fundraising, guest teaching and speaking engagements, hosting site tours and holding board positions in several local organizations.
