September 13, 2017

MORRIS, Ill. – Sept. 13, 2017 – LyondellBasell’s Morris Complex employees, contractors, families and friends spent this past Saturday working at Chapin Park in downtown Morris in celebration of the company’s 18th Annual Global Care Day. More than 100 volunteers spent time painting, planting trees, mulching and beautifying the park. In addition, a group of volunteers did yard work for the recently built Habitat for Humanity home in Morris.

“For the past 18 years, LyondellBasell has been proud to extend the tradition of working across the world to impact our communities,” said LyondellBasell site manager Tim Carnell. “There is a strong desire to invest in the places where we live and operate and this is one the most important days of the year. Employees help to decide the organizations that we partner with and this day is a demonstration of our ambition to make a tangible difference.”

LyondellBasell is one of the largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies in the world. Workers from 58 manufacturing sites and offices in 23 countries participated in the Global Care Day event.

“The City of Morris is grateful to partner with LyondellBasell during their Global Care Day event,” said Mayor Dick Kopiczick. “It is wonderful to collaborate with companies like LyondellBasell who consistently provide an outpouring of service locally.”

Over the past 18 years, LyondellBasell employees and their families have cumulatively donated more than 179,000 volunteer hours toward Global Care Day activities.
