For the fourth consecutive year, LYB organized the Digital Innovation Challenge (DIC), a competition for employees to work together in cross-functional teams aimed at developing innovative digital solutions to enhance workplace efficiency and efficacy.
The DIC attracts significant interest each year, and this edition was no exception. Over 30 global LYB teams submitted projects, which addressed a wide array of opportunities for value creation.
What sets the DIC apart is that no prior IT experience is required. All training and resources are provided to the participants, enabling employees from varying backgrounds to participate. The projects are developed during a three-week period with the focus on developing a Minimum Viable Product, a basic working version of the solution that fulfills the essential requirements for use and can be modified and enhanced over time. The projects are assessed by a diverse jury committee with the final winner selected by CEO Peter Vanacker.
This year, the following teams were recognized for their projects:
WINNER: Team 22
Project: Unified Process Value Estimation Platform
Team members: Joseph Congiundi, Fariborz Kiasi, Jim Lansford, Elliott Meckley and Ari Patel
RUNNER-UP: Team 5
Project: Competitive Intelligence and AI
Team members: Nicholas Briggs, Jessie Cooper, Daniel Mantenfel, Stefano Spataro and Brooke Thacker
The following teams made it to the final round, but were not selected:
