Stephen F. Cooper Elected to LyondellBasell Supervisory Board

ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- LyondellBasell Industries announced today that Stephen F. Cooper has been elected to serve as an independent member of the company's Supervisory Board.

 

Cooper also has been appointed vice chairman of the Supervisory Board and chairman of its Restructuring Committee. As chairman of the Supervisory Board Restructuring Committee, he provides guidance to the Board with respect to restructuring activities.

 

LyondellBasell's U.S. operations and a holding company in Germany voluntarily filed to reorganize under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code on Jan. 6 in order to facilitate a restructuring of the company's debts.

 

Cooper has more than 30 years of experience as a financial advisor, business turnaround specialist and interim executive. He is co-founder and former chairman of Zolfo Cooper, an advisory and interim management firm that provides restructuring leadership to companies and their stakeholders.

 

Cooper recently served as the chief executive officer (CEO) of Hawaiian Telcom and provided management services to American Home Mortgage. In 2005, he served as CEO of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and from 2002 to 2005 he served as CEO and chief restructuring officer of Enron. Other recent engagements include serving as executive chairman of Blue Bird, a leading bus manufacturer, and chairman of the board of auto supplier Collins & Aikman.
