Meeting CEO Peter Vanacker was an opportunity summer interns at the LyondellBasell Clinton Complex didn’t think was possible as their internship program wrapped up for the summer. However, when Peter hosted a global internal meeting at the Clinton Complex, interns jumped at the opportunity to grab a photo and introduce themselves.The summer interns worked on projects to support the company by identifying and implementing improvements to plant safety, environmental, and profitability performance. Some of the work included supporting a capital project to relocate a fired heater, preparing a project for relief device mitigation, and developing scope for an upcoming Turnaround event. The interns were also able to get involved in site and community activities such as the LYB Global Safety Day, a Women’s Connect Workshop with the LYB LIFT Employee Network, and a local Clinton Envirokids event.
