The LyondellBasell (LYB) Corpus Christi Plant was recognized during a KRIS 6 News live segment and check presentation in August for the site's contribution to the United Way of the Coastal Bend Operation Supply Our Students (SOS) initiative. This year, Operation SOS helped approximately 30,000 local students in 43 public school districts across a 10-county service area. Every contribution goes toward the wholesale purchase of basic school supplies where school administrators identify and provide supplies to students with the greatest need.

"At LyondellBasell, we are very excited to be able to give back to our local communities," Corpus Christi Plant Manager Alicia Matus said. "We want students in the Coastal Bend to have a successful school year without being concerned about how they will get their school supplies." Matus has served on the United Way of the Coastal Bend board since 2017.

In June, the Corpus Christi plant also supported the "Don't Sweat It" Donation Drive with the United Way and helped collect deodorants for more than 1,000 youth. The deodorants were provided to eight summer youth programs including The Boys and Girls club of the Coastal Bend, Neighborhood Centers of Corpus Christi, and YWCA Corpus Christi.

Since 2020, the Corpus Christi plant has awarded more than 70 grants totaling approximately $600,000 of community investment to various Coastal Bend organizations through the LYB global corporate citizenship program, Advancing Good. The program focuses on three key areas of impact: our communities, our planet and tomorrow's workforce.
