On July 24, the Channelview Complex (CVO) hosted the Economic Alliance Port Authority Taskforce for an informative tour to highlight the company’s dedication to economic development and community engagement.
Approximately 40 members of the Taskforce representing various sectors, including municipalities, schools, healthcare and industries from the Houston Ship Channel region, attended the event. The tour featured a comprehensive overview of the Channelview Complex's sustainability goals and operations. Participants explored the propylene oxide (PO) and tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA) site to better understand the petrochemical industry and the applications of the complex’s products. The visit was designed to provide insights into how CVO operates and its broader impact on the industry.
“The event was a success because it allowed us to educate the community about what we do and how our operations inside the fence touch their daily lives in ways they may not have known,” said Christopher Block, CVO operations manager for olefins & polyolefins.
“Our focus is to do everything in a safe manner, and we are committed to upholding industry excellence,” said Greg Cannon, CVO director of health, safety and environment.
The tour showcased the Channelview Complex’s role in supporting and developing the surrounding community, reinforcing its commitment to industry advancement, and fostering growth in understanding what happens on site at the complex.
