LyondellBasell (LYB) collaborated with Family and Youth Counseling Agency (“Family & Youth”) to host the Southwest Louisiana Human Trafficking Institute on Thursday, Sept. 19. The event included a one-day training and education opportunity for professionals including law enforcement personnel, district attorneys’ offices, social service professionals, mental health professionals, public health practitioners and businesses to strengthen their knowledge of identifying and responding to human trafficking in Southwest Louisiana and beyond.
“We are committed to being responsible, good neighbors in the communities where we operate, and invest in programs that foster safety, health, diversity, economic development and social wellbeing,” said David Schrutka, Site Manager, LYB Lake Charles Polymers. “We are proud to partner with Family & Youth Counseling Agency to help bring awareness to the subject of human trafficking prevention in Southwest Louisiana.”
Family & Youth was established as a nonprofit organization in 1970. It is the mission of Family & Youth to provide affordable and professional support through programs and services dedicated to advocacy, counseling and education for the people of Southwest Louisiana.
