LyondellBasell (LYB) proudly welcomed new graduates from the LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy, & Technology (CPET) at San Jacinto College into its workforce for 2024 Summer Signing Day. The event highlights the commitment of LYB to create equitable access to all levels of education with a focus on STEM to educate, train and prepare tomorrow's workforce to be future leaders. These students had their pick of who to work for, and choosing LYB shows their dedication to the organization.
The LYB Signing Day event recognized two graduates, Shannon Roberts, and Angelica Tolentino, celebrating the diverse backgrounds they bring to the company. The new hires' enthusiasm was felt as they were prepared to apply their newly learned skills in a real-world setting. These graduates embark on their new careers at the Channelview Complex. Integrating new graduates immediately into LYB operations helps the company continue to lead with innovation and develop strategic talent pipelines with our education partners.
In addition to the Channelview new hires, the La Porte Complex (LPO) also welcomed a group of graduates during the same event. Six graduates joined the ranks of the La Porte Complex workforce, including Aidan Fairchild, Jason Garcia, Jeffrey Magil, Darryl Smith, Isaac Vega and Victor Hugo Martinez. This transition from academic to professional life marks a significant step forward in their careers. Rose Luvaas, the LPO site operations manager, was present to congratulate the new hires and their families on this momentous occasion.
