LyondellBasell (LYB) employees from multiple locations, including the Houston Technology Center (HTC), Equistar Pipeline Operations (EPO), and Channelview Complex Operations (CVO), joined together to support the annual event.
Bike Around the Bay was a on October 19th & 20th that promoted environmental preservation and awareness. Funds raised support the Galveston Bay Foundation's efforts to protect and enhance the bay's natural resources.
“We are excited to contribute to the preservation of Galveston Bay," said Ruan Farmer. "Participating in this event allows us to positively impact our community while remaining active."

In support of Bike Around the Bay, HTC hosted a brisket lunch fundraiser on October 14 to prepare for the event. Site Manager Kai Dominik donated the brisket, which was served with side dishes provided by the HTC riders. Employees and volunteers also contributed donations, ensuring the riders met their fundraising goals to participate in the 170-mile cycling event. The HTC cycling team consisted of nine riders.
Riders were able to participate in several rides, including a two-day ride around the bay.
