LyondellBasell is introducing a new polyolefin process, Hyperzone PE technology, which produces high density polyethylene (HDPE) resin with exceptional characteristics. This technology’s unique reactors enable the production of tailored multi-modal polymer structures to meet customers’ demanding processing and product requirements. It achieves an optimal balance between ease of processing the polyolefin and end-product durability.
Evaluations are underway on a new 1.1 billion pound per year North American polypropylene plant utilizing LyondellBasell’s Spherizone PP technology. This plant will be the first Spherizone PP plant built in the U.S. and will expand LyondellBasell’s product portfolio offering beyond its existing Spheripol and Catalloy technologies. The Spherizone technology’s unique reactors produce a wide and novel range of high-quality polypropylene resins with increased versatility and broader market applications.
Our state-of-the-art Cincinnati Technology Center houses research and development functions in support of LyondellBasell's North American polymers business.This center contributes to our business by assisting customers in developing the most efficient and effective polymer materials for their applications. We also assist our manufacturing units and our customers in reducing manufacturing costs by optimizing the operation of their polymer processing equipment.
